May 2008 Elderhostel program

Savor Ancient Vines and Cuisine of Burgundy

This program was a six-day journey on the Sâone River, from Lyon to Dijon, on the barge Libellule, followed by two days in Lyon. Each day on the river included side trips to visit historic villages and interesting wineries. The program was guided by Elderhostel representative Françoise Barbet, whose energy, affability, and deep knowledge of Burgundy's history, architecture, cuisine, and wines contributed greatly to the trip's success.

Photo journal Photos of our trip, mainly taken by Ham Richards. The journal begins on Day 2 because in Elderhostel's terms Day 1 was the day we departed the US for France.

A brief history of Burgundy by Françoise Barbet.
